Summer Tournament 2024 5 of 6

5. Tournament Information for visitors

Thank you for choosing to join us for Newark Town Football Club's Annual Tournament. After the last amazing tournament, we are looking forward to welcoming you to our next event even more than ever.

I have had to undergo lengthy negotiations with the local council regarding parking at the park We don’t have as much space this year so please car share or walk to the park if possible. We are using the main Sconce Park field with access off Farndon Road (B6166) opposite the Spring House Pub (NG24 4SA)
(What3words ///mornings.shadowing.opened). Please drive slowly on and off the park, our marshals will direct you.

Unfortunately, due to issues with the council we must charge £2 a car this year, this will include a programme, and the path up to the pitches is flat and only a couple of minutes away. (See attached plan)

The Tom Mann car park will be used for club officials, visiting managers, and those with mobility issues.

The BBQ will be fired up for breakfast and will be served all day. Sandwiches, Ice creams, hot and cold refreshments and some stalls and inflatables will also be available. Cash and card accepted. Hopefully, the weather will be kind to us (don't forget your sun cream) and as well as bottles of water available to purchase we will happily refill your player's bottles (at no extra charge). Feel free to bring gazebos, your team flags, picnic blankets and chairs, we have plenty of room around the pitches.

We have changing facilities and toilets available, including accessible toilets and a separate room with baby changing facilities.

PLEASE NOTE:
We are a no-smoking club and respectfully ask anyone who needs to smoke or vape to do so in the car park area or away from the pitches and pavilion to safeguard the health and welfare of the children and spectators.

Please use the litter bins provided and help us to keep the park clean and tidy. Devon Park is a public space and alcohol is not permitted (you'll have to save the champagne celebrations until you get home!)

Behind the football pitches at the bottom of the hill is a river. Please ensure you tell children not to leave the site and always be aware of their location. We do have a lost child / vulnerable person coordinator who can signal the matches to stop if we get any reports of a lost child/vulnerable person. We also have wristbands available at the pavilion to write your number on and put on the wrist of children/vulnerable adults.

Yellow wristbands are available for any children who do not wish to be photographed for social media. Please ask for one in the pavilion if needed, or let us know if you have anyone not wishing to be photographed.

You can bring your dogs, but please keep them on a lead and pick up after them. We hope dog walkers will keep their pets on leads but again as we are in a public park there may be people who do not, but we will do our best.

Newark Town Managers wear navy blue kits with their initials on, and volunteers usually sport pink hoodies or club T-shirts, if you need any assistance, please just ask one of our friendly team who will help, we will be using 2-way radios on site too.

We will not tolerate abuse towards any of our officials or volunteers. We have young referees officiating our matches, most are qualified, some are mid-qualification, and they are buddied with an adult referee but will be making their own decisions. Mistakes may happen, but please remember these are children doing a difficult job, please refrain from commenting and complaining on the sidelines. If you have a problem, please come and speak to a club official.

Lastly, please enjoy the day; encourage and applaud the children no matter which team they play for and please RESPECT the match officials and volunteers who have spent a lot of time putting this tournament together.
