On October 12th, we hosted our first Supporting Additional Learning Needs meeting within our junior section, led by Joint Youth Lead Josh Feehily and Youth Secretary Carla Brown.

This was an open forum for parents, coaches and players to discuss how best to meet the needs of players who may have an additional learning need/special educational need.

The Club have created an Individual Player Profile, developed by the player themselves, that will help paint a picture for coaches to adapt their coaching and delivery to account for these needs, ensuring all players can participate effectively.

We will host these meetings on a regular basis and we encourage as many to attend as possible.

It is an open and free space with no judgement, the stigma around SEND is not like it was years ago and people are far more open to learning about, adapting to and appreciating difference.

So if we can support your child better, keep your eye out for our next meeting to come and have a chat to make sure they have the best experience playing football possible.
