Travel with Newark Town FC to Barton Town on Saturday August 3rd making History as it will be 100 years since the Club's first game in the FA Cup.
A total of 745 clubs will take part in the Emirates FA Cup during the 2024-25 season from the Premier League down to Step 5 of the National League System, this season Newark Town FC qualify.
Newark Town FC have played during ten-seasons in the FA Cup.
The fist occasion was one hundred years ago, on 20 September 1924 losing 2-0 to Grantham Town.
1930/31 was our best achievement proceeding through preliminary/qualifying rounds reaching the Second Round proper. On 29 November 1930 in the First Round in front of a home crowd of 2,700 they beat Rotherham United 2-1. Drawn to play at Home the Second Round they switched the fixture with FA permission, because of limited crowd capacity at the Muskham Road ground and so played at Crystal Palace, London, in front of 15,500 supporters losing 6-0.
Eighty-seven years ago, in 1937, was the last time Town played in that prestigious cup, losing to Boston united.
So on Saturday August 3rd, a century since their fist attempt at a run in the FA cup, it's Barton Town v Newark Town FC, indeed, history in the making.
